Lot 17: A Contemporary Ornate Rectangular Wall Sign With Printed Burlap Panel
Not sold
A contemporary rectangular wall sign, featuring a printed central panel within a heavily moulded frame. The central panel is constructed from coarse-woven tan burlap and is printed in black ink with the text TIME TO DRINK CHAMPAGNE AND DANCE ON THE TABLE. The word DRINK is set between two decorative scroll motifs, and a stylized crown and scroll device is positioned below the word THE. The frame is made from a composite material with an ornate foliate and scrolling design at the corners and midpoints. The frame is finished with a distressed off-white coating, showing deliberate areas of brown faux-wear to the raised details and edges. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The wall sign is in good contemporary condition. The distressed finish to the frame, including the visible brown areas and rubbing to the foliate mouldings, is an intentional design feature and does not constitute damage. The burlap panel shows no visible tears or fraying, and the printed text remains clear and legible. No significant chips or losses are visible to the moulded frame.
