Lot 573: A Pair of N Scale Static Model Locomotives, Hungarian and Australian

This lot comprises two static model locomotives, each mounted on a grey plastic display base featuring moulded ballast and track. The first is a model of an electric locomotive, finished in blue with yellow ends and red roof detailing. The side displays a white stylised S logo, and the front is printed with the number 1047 001-1. The base features a green, white, and red adhesive flag label above the word HUNGARY, alongside a gold-coloured nameplate reading MÁV 1047. The second is a model of a diesel-electric locomotive, finished in a weathered light blue and white livery with a black chassis. The front and cab displays the number 2130, and the long hood features a red and white graphic. The base features an adhesive label of the Australian national flag above the word AUSTRALIA, alongside a gold-coloured nameplate reading CLASS 2130 CO-CO. A small square label on the right side of the base reads N 1:160 G=9MM. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the locomotives themselves.
Condition report:
Both models show significant accumulations of surface dust across the upper surfaces (photos 1, 5, and 6). The electric locomotive exhibits a heavily textured, pitted finish to the yellow paint on the nose sections (photo 4). The diesel locomotive features simulated weathering in the form of brown and black grime concentrated around the vents and lower body (photo 8). The plastic handrails on the diesel model appear intact. The plastic display bases show light surface wear and some lifting to the edges of the adhesive flag labels. No original packaging is present.
