Lot 540: A Table Lamp with Fluted Column and Fabric Shade
Sold for: £1
A table lamp featuring a metal base and a vertical fluted column. The base is of stepped circular form with a beaded decorative border around the lower edge and a smaller beaded ring at the join to the stem. The stem consists of a slender, cylindrical column with longitudinal fluting, terminated at each end by a smooth, rounded collar. The lamp is fitted with a light-coloured fabric shade of flared square form, finished with matching piping at the upper and lower edges. It is equipped with a black three-core power cable, a standard UK three-pin plug, and a bayonet-style bulb socket with a plastic push-through switch mechanism. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The metal components of the base and column show minor surface dust and small scattered spots of oxidation. The fabric shade exhibits slight fraying with loose threads at one corner and is currently seated unevenly on the gallery. The electrical cable and plug appear intact, though the item is sold as untested and requires professional inspection before use.
