Lot 529: A Pedestal Cafe Table Featuring Lambretta Themed Signage
Not sold
A contemporary pedestal cafe table, featuring a circular wooden top with a flat edge and a visible grain. The top surface is finished in a clear gloss lacquer and is decorated with hand-finished serif typography. The text reads A W A Y at the top, L A M B R E T T A in red across the centre, and O F L I F E at the base. The words A W A Y, O F, and L I F E are painted in a dark forest green. The table is supported by a single central metal pedestal post finished in black paint, terminating in a stepped, circular tiered base. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The wooden tabletop shows a high-gloss finish with several light surface scratches and minor indentations consistent with use (photo 1). The painted lettering displays slight irregularities in application, particularly to the red L A M B R E T T A text (photo 3). The black pedestal base has minor scuffs and chips to the paint, notably around the lower tiers (photo 2). The underside of the base shows light surface grime.
