This lot comprises a five-piece ceramic tea service, including a teapot with lid and four teacups with matching saucers. Each piece is constructed from earthenware with a glossy glaze, featuring vibrant, hand-finished slip-trailed decoration. The teapot is of globular form with a domed lid and a spherical finial, decorated with a yellow pear motif against an orange ground, bordered by red and white stripes. The coordinating teacups and saucers feature various fruit motifs including apples and strawberries in bold primary and secondary colours. The decoration uses raised white outlines to define the fruit shapes against contrasting backgrounds of blue, green, and orange. The saucers and cup handles are finished with coordinating striped patterns. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on any of the pieces.

Condition report:

The service shows several signs of wear and damage. The teapot body has a visible chip on the rim where the lid sits (photo 2). One blue saucer exhibits a significant chip to the outer rim (photo 3). The interior of the orange teacup shows dark speckling and staining. General surface wear, light crazing, and accumulated dust are present across all pieces. Small surface scratches and localised glaze wear are visible upon close inspection.
