A large rectangular wooden advertising sign for Triumph and BSA Cycle Agents. The sign is constructed from vertical pine planks secured within a heavy wooden frame with rounded corners. The central panel features hand-painted serif lettering in two distinct rows. The upper row is painted in green and reads TRIUMPH & BSA with a smaller ampersand. The lower row is painted in a dark red or maroon hue and reads CYCLE AGENTS. The frame is joined to the backing boards with numerous surface-mounted nails. The wood shows a darkened, aged finish throughout. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The sign shows significant signs of age and historical use. The wooden frame and central planks exhibit numerous small holes and surface pitting. A prominent vertical split is visible in the third plank from the left, running through the letter R in TRIUMPH (photo 1). There are visible gaps between the vertical planks. The paint shows fine craquelure, fading, and minor losses, particularly concentrated around the nail heads and joins. The wood surface has a darkened patina with areas of staining and grime consistent with long-term display.
