Lot 83: A Mid-20th Century Garrard Clocks Ltd Mantel Clock, Dual Chime

A mid-20th century mechanical mantel clock featuring a wooden case in the Napoleon hat silhouette with a stepped base and metal geometric Art Deco-style flourishes to the front. The circular brushed metal dial is set within a chrome-plated bezel and features black Arabic numerals, an inner minute track, and black hands, including a spade-tip hour hand. Three winding holes are located on the dial face alongside a chime selector lever at the 3 o’clock position. The three-train mechanical movement features a decorative engine-turned finish to the backplate. The movement is marked with a diamond logo containing the name GARRARD, above the inscription MADE IN ENGLAND and the number 1454. The dial is printed at the base with WESTMINSTER, WHITTINGTON, and MADE IN ENGLAND. An accompanying brass winding key is included, featuring a stylized Art Deco head with GARRARD and CLOCKS LTD. in a diamond. No hallmarks are visible on the metal components.
