Lot 8: A Disney Musical Snow Globe Featuring Daisy Duck and Donald's Nephews
A Disney musical snow globe featuring Daisy Duck and characters representing Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The central glass globe contains a resin figure of Daisy Duck positioned beside a large grandfather clock and a vintage-style standing microphone. The globe is mounted upon a composite base modelled to resemble a wood-grain radio cabinet or kitchen unit. The front of the base features a mock radio frequency dial and a figure of one duck nephew manipulating white cords connected to a circular speaker grille. The side of the base is decorated with various household accessories hanging from hooks, including a kettle, a pan, and a bottle, alongside another duck nephew figure. The base includes a wind-up musical mechanism. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The item shows signs of significant age and environmental wear. The liquid within the glass globe is heavily discoloured with a dark amber tint and contains visible sediment (photo 1). A large air bubble is present at the top of the globe. The exterior figures and base have an accumulation of dust and grime in recessed areas. The white cords on the front figure are bent and tangled (photo 1). There are scattered paint losses and scuffs to the raised edges of the wood-effect base and the hanging kitchen accessories (photo 2). The functionality of the musical movement is untested. No original packaging is present.
