Lot 296: UK 1965 Elizabeth II Nine Coin Set

A set of nine UK circulating and commemorative coins, all dated 1965. The collection is presented in a black plastic display case within a clear protective frame. The set includes a large cupro-nickel crown commemorating Sir Winston Churchill, a half crown, a florin, an English shilling, a Scottish shilling, a sixpence, a brass threepence, a penny, and a half penny. The obverses of the coins feature the laureate bust of Queen Elizabeth II, with the exception of the Churchill crown which depicts the statesman’s profile. The reverse designs vary by denomination and include heraldic shields, floral emblems, and the Golden Hind. The inscriptions on the coins include ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F D and the respective denominations. The centre of the display is printed with a crowned E II R cypher and the year 1965 in white. The display case is marked with the denomination titles in white uppercase letters above each coin, and a small white dollar sign is visible in the lower-left corner of the black mount.
