Lot 283: A 925 Silver Rhinoceros Brooch
A 925 silver brooch, cast in the form of a rhinoceros in profile. The piece is modelled with a single prominent horn and stylized skin folds to the shoulder and haunch, finished with a high-polished surface. The reverse is flat and textured, fitted with a horizontal pin and a revolving safety C-clasp mechanism. Several marks are struck to the reverse. Centrally, a rectangular punch reads STERLING above a second rectangular punch reading 925. The characters within the frames and the circular symbol are not legible as specific names or offices.
