Lot 241: A Group of Seven-Sided Commemorative Medallions, Events That Made History

A collection of seven-sided medallions housed in a purple presentation folder titled EVENTS THAT MADE HISTORY: POLITICAL MOVEMENTS. Each medallion is constructed from metal with a color-printed design on the obverse depicting significant global events. The obverses include designs for: BREXIT 2016 featuring a map of the UK and EU flag; FALL OF THE WALL 1989 showing soldiers at the Berlin Wall; OBAMA ELECTED 2008 with a portrait of the 44th US President; HUMAN RIGHTS 1948 depicting a candle and hand; VOTES FOR WOMEN 1918 showing a suffragette poster; and NATIONS UNITED 1945 depicting the Yalta Conference participants. The reverse of each medallion features a common design with a central world map and the circular legend EVENTS THAT MADE HISTORY. Each medallion is protected within a clear circular plastic capsule. The presentation folder contains descriptive historical text for each commemorative event. No maker’s marks or fineness stamps are visible on the medallions or the packaging.
