The cupro-nickel 5p and 10p coins likewise feature the Machin portrait. The wallets include a printed descriptive card titled BRITAIN’S FIRST DECIMAL COINS. No silver hallmarks or fineness stamps are present on the coins or packaging.
Condition report:
The coins generally appear in uncirculated condition, though the copper and bronze denominations show significant environmental toning, dark spotting, and surface oxidation. The cupro-nickel crown and decimal coins exhibit original luster with minor contact marks. The blue vinyl wallets show age-related wear, and the internal plastic sleeve of the open set is heavily wrinkled and shows signs of yellowing. The 1981 presentation card is intact with minor shelf wear at the edges.
