Lot 156: Two Static Model Locomotives and Associated Display Tracks
This lot comprises two static model locomotives presented on plastic display tracks. The first is a streamlined locomotive with a dark grey body featuring white linear accents. The side of the unit is printed with the text NEW YORK CENTRAL above the number 4200. It is constructed from metal and plastic components, featuring silver-finished bogies. The second unit is a hood-style locomotive with a blue body and yellow accents. The side is printed with the legend SANTA FE and the cab features the number 5008. The front of the locomotive is finished in yellow. Both models are mounted on black plastic display bases styled as railway tracks. One base is marked with the printed text BB 22200 (SNCF). The locomotives are held within a clear plastic blister tray. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The dark grey locomotive shows multiple areas of paint loss, notably along the roof ridges and the front nose section. One set of silver-finished bogie frames appears misaligned or partially detached from the chassis. The blue locomotive exhibits significant paint wear and scuffing, particularly to the yellow SANTA FE lettering and the yellow horizontal striping along the body. The yellow paint on the front nose is extensively worn with substantial loss. The handrails are intact but show general handling wear. The plastic display bases are present, though one bears a label that does not correspond to the model displayed. The clear plastic inner packaging shows creases and signs of shelf wear. No original outer box is present.
