Lot 117: A Lambretta Repairs and Spares Advertising Pedestal Table
A pedestal table, featuring a circular top with a high-gloss finish and a tiered pedestal base. The top is decorated with hand-painted serif lettering in a tri-colour scheme: LAMBRETTA in red arcuate text to the upper section, REPAIRS AND in vertical green text to the centre, and SPARES in blue arcuate text to the lower section. Visible brushstrokes are present within the pigment, and a vertical grain pattern is discernible through the clear finish. The top is mounted to a black-painted cylindrical support which flares into a circular foot composed of five concentric tiers. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The table shows signs of use consistent with functional furniture. The top exhibits light surface scratches and minor scuffs to the gloss finish across the face (photo 1). The hand-painted lettering remains vibrant, though a slight smudge in the blue pigment is visible on the S of the word SPARES (photo 1). The black-painted pedestal base shows minor scuffs and light dust accumulation, primarily to the tiered base (photo 2). No signs of structural damage are present.
