Lot 69: UK 1993 Coronation 40th Anniversary Silver Crown
A 1993 United Kingdom commemorative crown, struck to a proof finish. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right. The reverse displays the St Edward’s Crown at the centre of a radiating sunburst design, surrounded by the struck legend FAITH AND TRUTH UNTO YOU and the dates 1953 1993. The coin is presented in a clear plastic capsule within a red hinged case featuring a black velvet-lined interior. An accompanying paper Certificate of Authenticity is printed with the text UNITED KINGDOM, CORONATION 40TH ANNIVERSARY, SILVER PROOF CROWN, and a crowned E II R cypher. The certificate identifies the metal composition as silver and bears the serial number 30268. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item or its packaging.
Condition report:
The coin exhibits a bright proof finish with frosted details and shows no visible toning or contact marks on either the obverse or reverse surfaces. The coin appears to be in as-issued condition. The clear protective plastic capsule and the red presentation case remain intact with no significant signs of wear. The original paper certificate is present and legible.
