Lot 171: USA Don't Mess With Me Copper One Avoirdupois Ounce Bullion Round

A USA copper bullion round, of circular form featuring a reeded edge. Struck from .999 fine copper, the obverse depicts a textured alligator coiled protectively over a mound of coins, with the upper perimeter inscribed DON’T MESS WITH ME. A small circular monogram consisting of the letter S positioned above the letter M is struck near the base of the tail; the monogram is not legible as a name. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with outspread wings and a shield on its breast, clutching an olive branch and three arrows. The legends at the top read COPPER .999 FINE and USA, while the bottom legend reads ONE A.V.D.P. OUNCE. The circular S M monogram is repeated to the right of the arrows. No maker’s names, signatures, or labels are readable on the item.
