Lot 110: UK 2000 Britannia .9584 Silver Two Pound Coin
A 2000 UK silver two pound coin, struck in .9584 Britannia silver and presented in its original Royal Mint carded packaging. The obverse depicts the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, inscribed ELIZABETH II D · G REG · FID · DEF · 2 POUNDS, with the artist’s initials IRB at the base of the neck. The reverse features Philip Nathan’s design of Britannia standing on a shore with a trident and shield, with the legend BRITANNIA 2000 ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER. The coin is held in a clear acrylic capsule set into a blue information card that lists technical specifications and states an ISSUE LIMIT 100,000. The card identifies the manufacturer as ROYAL MINT, LLANTRISANT, PONTYCLUN, CF72 8YT, UNITED KINGDOM. The assembly is contained within a clear plastic sleeve printed with the ROYAL MINT name. A yellow adhesive price label is attached to the sleeve reading BROO AG 15. 1. 01.

Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse displays light surface toning, primarily around the outer legends. The reverse shows significant yellow and grey toning across the fields and the raised rim. The acrylic capsule and information card are intact. The plastic sleeve shows minor creasing and surface scuffing.
