This lot comprises a pair of lace-up clogs, featuring mahogany-toned leather uppers secured to carved light wood soles. The shoes are designed in a Gibson style with four pairs of metal eyelets and dark brown flat woven laces. The leather uppers are attached to the soles with a perimeter of dome-headed metal studs with a brass-toned finish. The soles are constructed from contoured natural wood and are fitted with textured synthetic outsoles and heel caps. The accompanying ephemera includes a newsletter fragment from the HALLIWELL LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY featuring a well pump logo within a circular border containing the characters HLHS, above the text RESEARCHING THE HISTORY OF HALLIWELL. Also included is a printed informational slip containing the text FLEMISH W, IT IS REPU, TRODU, BETTER THAN BELGIAN, SOME IMPROVED WARM AND DURABLE AND EFFECTIVE AGAINST WET CONDITIONS, and DEVELOPED A VOGUE BRASS NAILS AND WOMENFOLK. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the shoes.

Condition report:
The clogs show no signs of outdoor wear or interior use and appear to be in unworn vintage condition. A small surface scuff is present on the toe of the left shoe (photo 1). The leather uppers remain supple, and the wooden soles and synthetic outsoles are clean and free from handling marks (photo 2). The interior footbeds show no foot impressions or signs of wear (photo 4). The items are supplied in a plain blue cardboard box with the described historical ephemera.
