A silver novelty banknote, featuring a commemorative design honouring basketball player Kobe Bryant. The obverse depicts a central portrait of Bryant in a Western Conference jersey numbered 24, holding a basketball. The design incorporates a metallic textured finish and multiple printed inscriptions including THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE MILLION DOLLARS, 1000000, and SILVER 999999. The dates 1978-2020 are printed to the left of the central figure. A stylised printed signature is located at the lower right, and a circular seal reading UNITED STATES FEDERAL RESERVE appears at the bottom. The reverse shows a depiction of Independence Hall with the legends THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, INDEPENDENCE HALL, and ONE MILLION DOLLARS. The printed serial number H8 is visible on the obverse. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The novelty banknote shows signs of handling and light surface wear. The obverse shows fine surface scratches and minor scuffs to the textured finish, particularly across the central portrait (photo 1). The reverse displays similar light contact marks and a slight surface irregularity along the top edge (photo 2). The item is not supplied with a protective case or capsule.
