A glass ewer, of Persian form, featuring a globular body and a long, slender neck. The neck is punctuated by a central bulbous knop and terminates in a wide, flared rim. The vessel is constructed with a tall, curved spout and a small, applied loop handle on the upper neck. The exterior is finished using a scavo technique, resulting in a matte, textured, and pitted surface with mottled turquoise and sea green tones interspersed with earthy brown patches and dark, grit-like inclusions. The interior of the flared rim displays a smoother, translucent finish. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The glass ewer is in good condition. The irregular, pitted texture and mottled colouration are intentional design features (photo 1). The flared rim shows no visible chips or cracks (photo 3). The spout and handle appear structurally sound with no visible breaks or repairs (photo 2). No original packaging is present.
