Lot 277: A Pair of White Metal Link Bracelets with Cabochon Stone Insets
This lot comprises a pair of white metal bracelets, each featuring a central decorative link and rigid side panels. The central motifs each contain a single pear-shaped cabochon stone held in a smooth rub-over mount. The stones are surrounded by a crescent-shaped inner frame and an outer border of scrolling and looped wirework. The side panels are constructed from three parallel bands, with the outer two plain and the central band formed of braided wire, held together by flat transverse rectangular keepers. One bracelet contains an opaque mottled green stone, and the other contains an opaque brown stone with a distinct fibrous texture. Both items are finished with simple hook clasps. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The bracelets show signs of wear and age consistent with handling. Light surface scratches and minor abrasions are present on the metal surfaces. There is noticeable tarnish and oxidation, particularly within the recesses of the braided wire and filigree scrollwork (photo 4). The cabochon stones appear secure in their settings without visible chips or cracks (photo 2). The clasps are intact. No original packaging is provided.
