Lot 270: A Fruit Bowl with Scalloped Rim and Hand-Painted Orchard Decoration

A fruit bowl, featuring a deep circular form with a scalloped rim and a pedestal foot. The vessel is decorated with hand-painted orchard fruit motifs, including detailed renderings of pears, plums, grapes, and blackberries. The background consists of a textured, fan-like pattern in shades of ochre, brown, and tan. The interior is similarly decorated around the walls with corresponding fruit clusters, leading to a concentric yellow and cream swirl in the centre base. Both the rim and the foot are finished with a thick gilded band. The bowl is constructed with a flared profile sitting on a low pedestal base. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
