A 1998 UK 50 pence coin, of equilateral-curve heptagonal form. The reverse design features a series of radiating lines with the acronym NHS repeated five times around the upper border. The central legend reads FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY with the denomination 50 PENCE located at the base. The coin is presented in a red card display mount within a clear plastic case. The card is printed with the text BRITAIN, 1948, 1998, and 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE. The design also incorporates two Union Flag motifs and the ER monogram.
Condition report:
The reverse of the coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, showing a bright surface with no visible contact marks, toning, or wear (photo 1). The red card presentation insert remains crisp and free from fading. The clear plastic protective case is intact.
