This lot comprises a pair of glass hurricane candle holders. Each vessel is of cylindrical form, terminating in a thick, weighted clear glass base which provides stability. The glass bodies are treated with a reflective interior coating to create a metallic effect, contrasting with the exterior surface decoration. This decoration consists of vertical bands of white frosted chevrons, arranged in a stylised foliate or laurel leaf pattern. The interior of each holder contains a white wax pillar candle with an unlit wick. The items are designed for decorative use, with the reflective coating intended to enhance the candle light. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The pair is in good overall condition. Minor dark spotting and rubbing is visible to the reflective interior coating near the top rims (photo 2). The exterior frosted patterns appear intact with no notable losses. The glass bodies show no visible chips, cracks, or deep scratches. The included white pillar candles show no evidence of having been previously lit.
