A Mid-20th Century large water pitcher, of tapered conical form with a flared spout and a high-arching C-scroll handle. The vessel is constructed from metal with a layered enamel finish. The exterior decoration comprises an ombre gradient, transitioning from a dark cobalt blue at the base and rim to a speckled light blue and grey band across the centre. The handle is finished in a uniform cobalt blue. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Height to the tip of the spout: 35cm
Height to the rim: 31cm.
Condition report:
The pitcher shows signs of age and functional wear. There is extensive enamel loss and surface oxidation around the entire base rim (photo 1). Small chips to the enamel and spots of oxidation are visible at both handle attachment points (photo 2). The upper rim and spout show light wear and minor chipping to the enamel edge. The main body retains a glossy finish with scattered light surface scratches consistent with age.
