This lot comprises an assortment of military uniform components. Included is a field service cap of navy blue wool construction, featuring scarlet piping and a scarlet front peak insert. The front of the cap is fitted with two metal buttons embossed with crowns. The lot contains two woven webbing stable belts. The first belt is navy blue with red horizontal stripes and features a circular interlocking metal buckle. The outer ring of the buckle is embossed with the text ROYAL ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS, and the central medallion depicts a crown over a shield. The second belt is khaki webbing with a rectangular metal plate buckle, featuring an applied metal badge depicting a sphinx resting on a plinth. Completing the collection is a pair of dark brown leather riding leggings of stiff construction with internal leather straps and metal buckles. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.


Condition report:

The field service cap exhibits light surface wear and lint, with oxidation present on the buttons (photo 3). The Royal Army Ordnance Corps belt webbing shows light soiling and minor fraying, with surface scratches and tarnishing to the metal buckle (photo 2). The khaki webbing belt shows moderate soiling and discoloration, with surface wear and oxidation to the metal plate (photo 2). The leather leggings show significant signs of age and use, with dry leather, surface scuffing, scratches, and cracking at the flex points (photo 5). No other faults are visible.
