A 2006 silver commemorative crown issued by the Solomon Islands, struck to mark the eightieth birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin features a proof finish with selective gold gilding to the central numerals and the inner border. The reverse depicts Princess Elizabeth in her Auxiliary Territorial Service uniform standing before a wartime ambulance, with the number 80 positioned above the figure. The legend TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower border in capital letters. The coin is housed in a clear plastic protective capsule and is accompanied by a printed presentation card. The card text includes EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY 2006 HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II SILVER PROOF COIN COLLECTION SOLOMON ISLANDS EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY SILVER PROOF CROWN 1926-2006. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item beyond the struck inscriptions and printed card.
Condition report:
The coin exhibits a high quality proof strike with reflective fields and frosted relief. Localised dark toning and surface oxidation are visible along the edge near the gilded rim on the reverse (photo 2). The coin is housed in a clear plastic protective capsule and includes the original printed presentation card.
