A UK 1907 silver shilling. The obverse features a bare head portrait of King Edward VII facing right. Struck legends read EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The initials DES are struck below the truncation of the neck. The reverse features a Royal Crest reverse, depicting a lion standing atop a crown. Struck legends read FID: DEF: IND: IMP: above and ONE SHILLING below, with the date 1907 flanking the crown. The coin is struck with a milled edge. No other marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.


Condition report:

The coin shows signs of significant handling and environmental exposure. The obverse portrait exhibits heavy wear to the hair and beard, with a prominent dark toning spot located on the cheek (photo 2). Numerous fine contact marks and light surface scratches are visible across both fields. The reverse shows considerable wear to the lion\'s mane and the detail of the crown (photo 1). No protective capsule or original packaging is supplied.
