A UK silver shilling featuring a profile portrait of King George V on the obverse. The portrait is encircled by the struck legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The reverse depicts a crowned lion standing upon a crown, with the designer’s initials K and G struck to either side of the lion’s head. The surrounding legend reads FID DEF IND IMP ONE SHILLING 1935. The coin is finished with a milled edge. No other marks or fineness stamps are present on the surfaces.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of circulation and handling. The obverse exhibits wear to the high points of the portrait, specifically the hair and beard, alongside fine contact marks and surface scratches across the fields. The reverse displays similar wear to the lion\'s mane and the central crown, with scattered surface marks. Both faces show an even golden-yellow toning. The coin is supplied without a case or protective capsule.
