A UK coin featuring a right-facing laureate and draped bust on the obverse. The struck legend reads GEORGIUS III · D: G · REX. with the date 1806 positioned below the truncation of the neck. The reverse depicts a seated figure facing left, holding an olive branch in the outstretched right hand and a trident in the left, with a shield bearing a saltire and cross resting at the side. The legend reads BRITANNIA. Both faces are framed by a raised beaded border at the rim. The coin is of circular form. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and significant handling. The obverse exhibits heavy circulation wear to the portrait and legend, with visible pitting and areas of green oxidation along the lower rim and within the lettering (photo 2). The reverse shows substantial wear to the figure and shield, with loss of detail to the olive branch and trident. Dark toning and further oxidation are present across the fields and beaded border (photo 1). No protective capsule or case is supplied.
