A pair of heart-shaped mineral specimens, carved and polished from a pink quartz mineral. The stone exhibits a granular, crystalline texture with a colour range extending from light blush pink to deeper terracotta hues. Each specimen features a highly polished front face that showcases internal mineral inclusions, including pale cloudy areas and darker concentrated patches. Natural surface-reaching vugs or cavities are visible, lined with small, translucent druzy crystals. The specimens are displayed on a purpose-built black-finished metal stand with a square base. The stand employs two sets of adjustable metal prongs to support each heart independently. No maker’s marks, locality labels, or provenance stickers are present.
Condition report:
Both mineral specimens are in good condition with high-lustre polished surfaces. The visible pits, cavities, and internal fracture lines are natural geological occurrences consistent with the mineral type (photo 1). The metal stand is in good order, providing stable support. A small area of natural iron-oxide staining is visible on the outer edge of the left-hand specimen (photo 2).
