A large vertical advertising sign for Lambretta. The sign is constructed from a single wooden plank with a pale cream painted ground. The brand name LAMBRETTA is hand-painted in red serif capital letters above the word SALES, which is painted in green serif capital letters. The design is characteristic of mid-20th-century automotive showroom or workshop signage. No manufacturer marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the face or edges of the sign.
Condition report:
The sign presents in good display condition with various signs of age and wear. Scattered surface scuffs, scratches, and small abrasions are present across the cream background (photo 1). The edges of the wooden plank exhibit paint chipping and minor wear to the wood (photo 1). The green paint on the word SALES appears thinner and shows more wear than the red lettering above (photo 1). Minor discolouration and staining are visible across the cream paint (photo 1).
