Buyer's Premium:

A mid-20th century coffee table of rectangular form in the Queen Anne style. The top features a figured burr walnut veneered surface set within a moulded frame, covered by a protective glass insert. The apron is decorated with a continuous band of carved foliate and leaf motifs. The table is supported by four cabriole legs featuring carved shell and acanthus leaf details at the knees, terminating in stylized pad feet. The underside reveals solid wood construction with recessed mounting blocks for the legs. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the exterior or underside of the piece.

Condition report:

The wooden frame shows visible signs of age and use. There are scattered scratches, rubbing, and minor finish loss along the outer carved edges and corners (photo 2 and 3). Small nicks and chips are present on the carved foliate border of the apron (photo 2 and 3). The glass top exhibits light surface scratches consistent with use (photo 1). An inspection of the underside reveals a hairline crack in one of the wooden leg mounting blocks (photo 4), although the structure appears stable.
