A framed commercial offset lithograph print titled The Wind in the Willows, featuring character illustrations and narrative scenes by Melanie Cargill. The artwork displays a central image of characters at a riverside picnic with a vintage motor car and a rowing boat. This central scene is surrounded by ten smaller vignettes of individual characters and groups from the Kenneth Grahame story, each with a printed label: Toad, Ratty, Mole, Badger, Otter and Portly, Sea Rat, The Field Mice, The Weasels, Rabbit, and The Hedgehogs. Printed text along the bottom margin reads 700/469 PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN WIND IN THE WILLOWS BY MELANIE CARGILL © FELIX ROSENSTIEL’S WIDOW & SON LIMITED 1993. The print is presented behind glass in a light-coloured wooden frame featuring a two-toned inner slip.
Condition report:
The print appears to be in good overall condition with no visible signs of fading, foxing, or toning to the paper (photo 1). The wooden frame exhibits minor surface scuffs and light wear consistent with age (photo 1).
