A decorative desk accessory comprising a polished silver-toned metal blade and an ornamental handle. The blade tapers from a square shoulder to a rounded point. The handle is constructed around a large, central lampworked glass bead of oval form. This bead features an internal tight spiral of turquoise and teal glass interspersed with shimmering copper-toned aventurine flecks, all encased in a clear glass layer. The handle is finished with silver-toned metal ferrules and a bulbous, turned finial. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or country of origin stamps are visible on the metal components or the glass.
Condition report:
The silver-toned metal blade shows several areas of surface scuffing and light scratching consistent with regular use (photo 1). Minor spots of tarnish and oxidation are visible on the metal ferrules and finial of the handle (photo 2). The lampworked glass bead is in good condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or internal fractures (photo 2). All components are securely joined.
