Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A United Kingdom 1983 proof coin collection, issued by the Royal Mint. The set comprises eight coins: the half penny, one penny, two pence, five pence, ten pence, twenty pence, fifty pence, and the inaugural one pound coin. The coins are struck to proof quality. Metal compositions consist of nickel-brass for the one pound, cupro-nickel for the fifty, twenty, ten, and five pence denominations, and bronze for the two, one, and half penny. Reverses feature standard designs including the Royal Coat of Arms on the one pound, Britannia on the fifty pence, and a crowned Tudor rose on the twenty pence. The set is housed in a clear acrylic display case with a black insert, accompanied by a square commemorative token featuring a crown motif and the inscription Elizabeth R 1983. The collection is contained within a textured blue presentation box featuring a silver-foil Royal Mint crest on the lid.
Condition report:
The coins are in brilliant proof condition with strong lustre and no visible signs of handling or toning. The internal acrylic display case shows minor surface dust. The outer presentation box exhibits minimal wear to the corners and edges.
