A modernist 925 silver brooch featuring an abstract nautical motif. The design presents a stylized representation of a sailing or rowing vessel, composed of a central vertical mast-like bar intersected by a sweeping curved frame. Three tapered horizontal rods, resembling oars or stylized sails, extend from the frame. A single white baroque pearl is suspended from a wire-work loop at the apex of the central bar. The brooch is constructed from 925 silver with a polished finish and natural oxidation. A small rectangular maker’s mark is stamped on the reverse near the base of the vertical bar, although the characters are not clearly legible. The piece is fitted with a horizontal pin and a revolving safety catch.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good vintage condition. There is light surface wear and fine scratches consistent with age and use. Natural tarnish is present, particularly around the soldered joints and the pearl setting. The pin mechanism is intact and functional. The baroque pearl is secure in its mounting.
