The oceans are depicted with iridescent white mother-of-pearl, while the continents and countries are composed of various polished semi-precious gemstones, including malachite, jasper, and lapis lazuli. The landmasses are printed with geographical labels in black and red ink. The globe is mounted on a graduated brass-toned meridian ring marked with degree increments and sits within a gimbal frame supported by a four-pillar pedestal base. The base features a central integrated compass.

Condition report:
The item is in good decorative condition. There is light surface tarnishing and dust visible on the polished brass-toned metal stand. The mother-of-pearl and gemstone inlay appears intact and well-preserved.
