Buyer's Premium:

A pair of original watercolour and ink architectural sketches on paper by Jeff Morgan, depicting iconic landmarks in Sydney, Australia. One work presents an impressionistic, close-up view of the Sydney Opera House featuring stylised figures and cafe umbrellas in the foreground, executed with loose washes of ochre and blue and defined with grey ink lines. The second work provides a broader vista of Sydney Harbour, illustrating the Harbour Bridge and the sails of the Opera House beneath a streaked blue sky and green-tinted water. Both paintings are executed in a spontaneous pen-and-wash style. Each work is signed by the artist in the lower right. The paintings are presented in matching dark wood frames with gold-toned inner fillets and cream-coloured mats.

Top Painting (Opera House): Inscribed lower left “Opera house / Sydney ’83”; signed lower right “Jeff Morgan”.
Bottom Painting (Sydney Harbour): Inscribed lower left “Sydney Harbour”; signed lower right “Jeff morgan”.

Condition report:

The dark wood frames show significant wear, including scuffs, scratches, and loss of finish along the edges and corners. The cream mats exhibit light toning and minor mat burn. The watercolour paper appears to be in good condition with minor overall yellowing consistent with age; no visible foxing, water damage, or significant fading is apparent.
