A collection of mid-to-late 20th-century British Army uniform accessories and accoutrements associated with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. The group includes a dark blue wool field service cap featuring a red top insert and two brass buttons embossed with the corps crest. A navy blue canvas stable belt is present, decorated with three horizontal red stripes and a two-part circular silver-toned metal buckle; the outer ring is embossed ROYAL ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS and the inner disc features a brass-toned metal corps crest. The collection further includes a white cotton ceremonial webbing belt with a rectangular chrome-plated buckle plate featuring a mounted gilt-metal corps badge. Completing the group is a pair of stiff brown leather leggings, each with a single leather strap and metal buckle at the base. Faint, illegible black ink stamps are present on the interior of the leather.
Condition report:
The fabric elements show typical signs of use and storage, including light staining and creasing. The wool cap appears free from moth damage. The leather leggings exhibit significant surface scuffing, cracking, and dryness consistent with age and field use. The metal buckles show minor surface scratches and light tarnishing.
