Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A collection of coins issued by the Royal Mint, UK, to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1977. The set contains a commemorative twenty-five pence (crown) piece and standard decimal denominations including fifty pence, ten pence, five pence, two pence, one penny, and half-penny. The coins are struck in cupro-nickel and bronze. The obverse of the crown depicts the Queen on horseback with the legend ELIZABETH II DG REG FD 1977, while the standard denominations feature the second decimal portrait by Arnold Machin. Included is a rectangular bronze-coloured commemorative token bearing a crown and the inscription Elizabeth R. 1977. The collection is housed in its original blue velvet-lined clear acrylic display case within a blue card folder. The folder is finished with silver-foiled text detailing the commemoration of the Silver Jubilee 1952-1977.
Condition report:
The coins are in uncirculated condition, retaining high original mint lustre with no visible signs of wear or handling. The acrylic display case and original blue card folder are well-preserved with only minor shelf wear consistent with age.
