Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A Collection of Coins comprising the 1976 United Kingdom proof coinage, issued by the Royal Mint. The set includes the 50p, 10p, 5p, 2p, 1p, and 1/2p denominations, alongside a square commemorative brass-toned medal. The cupro-nickel and bronze coins feature the second decimal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin on the obverse, with the legend transcribed as ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 1976. The square medal bears a crown motif and the inscription Elizabeth R 1976. The set is housed in its original clear plastic display case with a blue velvet-textured insert, which is contained within a green textured card outer box. The box lid is decorated with gold-toned circular lettering that reads The Coinage of Great Britain & Northern Ireland with a large, faintly embossed 1976 in the centre.
Condition report:
The coins are in uncirculated proof condition, exhibiting mirrored fields and frosted relief details with no visible signs of handling or wear. The original Royal Mint packaging, including the clear inner case and green textured outer box, is complete and shows only minor signs of shelf wear.
