This 1975 United Kingdom annual proof coin set was issued by the Royal Mint and comprises six denominations: fifty pence, ten pence, five pence, two pence, one penny, and one half penny. Each coin features the second definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin on the obverse, with the inscription ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 1975. The coins are struck in cupro-nickel and bronze with a proof finish, characterised by mirrored fields and frosted relief. The collection is housed in its original clear plastic presentation case with a green flocked interior, which includes a rectangular gilt plaque depicting a crown and the inscription Elizabeth R 1975. The set is accompanied by the original green card outer sleeve bearing the gilt title COINAGE of GREAT BRITAIN + NORTHERN IRELAND 1975. This set includes the now-demonetised decimal half penny coin.
Condition report:
The coins remain in excellent proof condition, displaying mirrored fields and no visible signs of circulation or significant toning. The internal plastic display case is well-preserved. The original green card outer sleeve shows minor shelf wear, including light scuffing and softening at the corners.
