The 50 pence coin features the commemorative reverse design celebrating the UK entry into the European Economic Community. Each coin displays the Arnold Machin obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 1973. Included is a square gold-toned commemorative plaque embossed with a crown and the inscription Elizabeth R 1973. The set is housed in its original red velvet-lined clear plastic case and red card outer sleeve, the latter bearing the gold-coloured inscription THE COINAGE OF GREAT BRITAIN & NORTHERN IRELAND 1973 and a calligraphic logo.

Condition report:

Coins are in proof condition but exhibit significant environmental toning and atmospheric oxidation. Heavy dark discoloration and mottled spotting are visible on the cupro-nickel coins, particularly the 50 pence piece. The bronze coins show general darkening of surfaces. The display case and outer sleeve show minor shelf wear but remain intact.
