A collection of ten United Kingdom brilliant uncirculated coins issued by the Royal Mint in 2006. The set is presented in the original commemorative silver-coloured card folder marking the 150th anniversary of the Victoria Cross (1856-2006). The collection comprises five commemorative coins and five definitive coins. The commemorative pieces include two £2 coins (Isambard Kingdom Brunel: Achievements and Isambard Kingdom Brunel: Portrait), one £1 coin (Egyptian Bridge), and two 50p coins (Victoria Cross Award and Victoria Cross Heroic Acts). The set is completed by the definitive 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p, and 1p coins. Each coin features the fourth definitive obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The coins are struck in base metals including bimetallic nickel-brass and cupro-nickel, cupro-nickel, and copper-plated steel. The folder is decorated with a lithograph of 19th-century soldiers in red-coat uniforms and an image of the Victoria Cross medal. The circular coin display is framed by an embossed chain-link border featuring the transcribed letters FOR VALOUR.
Condition report:
