A United Kingdom silver Crown dated 1896, struck during the reign of Queen Victoria at the Royal Mint. The obverse features Thomas Brock’s Veiled Head portrait of the Queen. The reverse features the St George and Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci. The coin is composed of .925 sterling silver. The obverse legend reads VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. The date 1896 is located in the exergue on the reverse.
Condition report:
The coin is in circulated condition with moderate wear on the high points of the obverse portrait and reverse design. It displays a dark, greyish-silver toning. Visible surface scratches are present on the obverse cheek and neck, with minor nicks and contact marks along the denticulated rims.
