Small initials T.B. for engraver Thomas Brock are located below the truncation of the bust. The reverse displays the St George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci, with the date 1899 and initials B.P. in the exergue. The edge of this issue typically carries a raised regnal year inscription.

Condition report:
The coin displays significant circulation wear with flattening to the high points of Victoria\'s veil, the horse\'s flank, and the dragon\'s body. The surfaces show numerous contact marks, small scratches, and abrasions. A dark grey patina is present on both the obverse and reverse.
