A 1856 United Kingdom silver One Shilling coin. The obverse features the Young Head portrait of Queen Victoria with the Latin legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:. The reverse displays the denomination ONE SHILLING surmounted by a crown and encircled by a wreath of laurel and oak branches, with the date 1856 at the base. The coin is struck in sterling silver (0.925 fineness) and features a milled edge. Catalogued as KM 734.1.
Condition report:
Circulated. The coin shows moderate to heavy wear on the high points of the obverse portrait and the reverse crown and wreath. Scattered nicks and scratches are visible across the fields. Natural dark toning and aged patina are present around the design elements and lettering. Grade: Fine.
