A UK 1/10 oz silver Britannia bullion coin with a face value of 20 Pence, dated 2023. Struck in .999 fine silver. The obverse features the first coinage portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, facing left, against a stippled background. The legend reads CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 20 PENCE. The reverse depicts Philip Nathan’s design of Britannia standing amidst waves, wearing a Corinthian helmet and holding a trident and a Union Jack shield. The reverse legend states BRITANNIA 2023 1/10 oz 999 FINE SILVER with the designer’s name NATHAN at the base. The coin has a milled edge. This issue represents the inaugural coinage for the reign of King Charles III.
Condition report:
The coin exhibits high original lustre but shows significant surface condition issues. There is prominent white milk spotting across the obverse portrait of King Charles III. Dark tarnish and staining are concentrated along the lower edges of both the obverse and reverse. The coin shows no evidence of circulation wear.
