A United Kingdom silver fourpence, commonly referred to as a groat, dated 1839. The coin features the Young Head obverse and the Britannia seated reverse (KM#731.1). The obverse bears the Latin legend VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D: and the reverse specifies the denomination as FOUR PENCE with the date in the exergue. The groat was reintroduced for circulation in the United Kingdom during the 1830s to provide a convenient medium for small transactions.

Very Fine. The coin displays moderate wear to the higher points of the portrait and Britannia\'s figure, consistent with a circulated example.
